‘Learning by Doing in Entrepreneurship’ Global Forum in Qingdao, China April 9 and 10, 2010 
The School of Entrepreneurship Management at Feiyang College is the first national approved business management college in China. With four majors currently being offered; business management, innovation management, marketing, and accounting computerization, the college is striving to become one of the world’s most influential entrepreneurial universities in the years to come with a focus on entrepreneurship as its core. On April 9 and 10, Feiyang College hosted their first annual Global Forum aimed to provide a platform for academics, governmental policy-makers, and entrepreneurs to exchange ideas and experience related to new venture creation. This year’s Forum featured paper presentations, case studies, workshops and symposium proposals from national representatives, invited guests and international delegates. Dr. Charles Matthews (Immediate Past-President of ICSB) presented on ‘The Importance of Entrepreneurship in Education and Practice,’ David Smallbone (President-Elect of ICSB) presented on ‘The Role of Policy in Relation to SME Development’, and Dr. Ayman El Tarabishy (Executive Director of ICSB) presented on ‘Creative Destruction and Masterpieces.’ Forum participants were very pleased with the two day event and plan to build on this foundation by strengthen the entrepreneurship community in China through events and communication centered around strategies and policies proven to be effective in sustaining small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship. With support from organizations like the Economic Management College of Tsinghua University, a well-known Chinese institution for research, training, and consulting, the Global Forum is primed to make an impact.
